There is a quiet to cobbles in summer.
Everyone moves slowly in the heat, the rumble is dampened by the moist hot air. The clicking of heels is dull and less staccato. The rush to the subway less a blur.
It is a time when eyes open slowly and a dream state continues long past expectations.

Losses
Most losses add something —
a new socket or silence,
a gap in a personal
archipelago of islands.
We have that difference
to visit—itself
a going-on of sorts.
But there are other losses
so far beyond report
that they leave holes
in holes only
like the ends of the
long and lonely lives
of castaways

“I choose to identify with the underprivileged, I choose to identify with the poor, I choose to give my life for the hungry, I choose to give my life for those who have been left out of the sunlight of opportunity…This is the way I’m going. — Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The unpredictablility is enjoyable.

This is a Lomo-esque shot just a couple blocks from home. I have taken many photos of it. I like to explore the same places from a different point of view. This is an amazing building. It has been empty now for at least a couple years. I wonder when someone from Brooklyn will buy it and turn it into condos. So much Philadelphia property has been bought up by Brooklyn developers.

Happy to have my digital Lomo in my iPhone. This is a shot that I snapped after having to dig through my bike bag. I just can’t imagine the number of bicycles are on the roof of that van. Who put them up there and how? Where did they come from. Just crazy.
