birthday orchid

My birthday orchid seems very happy in it’s new home. It had bloomed twice in our old place in South Philadelphia where I was happy to keep it alive. It was hard work for some reason.

Now in Old City it is thriving.

I don’t think it is just the light and the water. I really think the energy here is so different. It seems to love Old City and the people that come and go in the gallery. It is joyful.

It was terrific to come upon these photographs on Flickr. They are a combination of so many of my interests. They are Hopper paintings. They are wonderful detailed scale models. They are still lifes photographed with love and skill.

I found this little gap and shot the neighbors doing some shoveling. Of course after they had spent an hour doing this the snow removal firm showed up and plowed. Silly people.

We usually are parked out there. But with the help of our pals David and E we put our car in a garage for friday, sturday, and Sunday. We’ll shovel a bit and get it back in place. Thing is we are expecting snow again on tuesday and wednesday.

This is our second huge storm since moving downtown.

We Choose the Moon: Command Service Module Ignites

Great new website! Follow the Apollo 11 mission to the moon with real-time experience. Follow the current point in mission. Listen to conversations, watch video that had been transmitted live. I’m just wondering around the site now and listening to the audio transmission.
