storm 021010

A white day full of muffled sounds. Almost everything a whisper.

The snow is still falling and the sky is the same strange yellow as last night. Perfect symmetry 12 hours later. It has been a night and day of quiet observation. An occasional muffled voice heard with the crunch of boots on newly fallen snow. It is a joy to be so quiet on the inside too.

Stillness.

snow right now!

The sky is a weird yellow and the snow has already covered the cards and sidewalks. It’s 9pm. We have less than an inch. I’m planning on adding a number of widgets here on the blog tonight.

courtyard

This is what it looked like in our courtyard yesterday. Over night the wind was blowing so hard that all the windows were covered in snow and we couldn’t see outside. I found this little gap and shot the neighbors doing some shoveling. Of course after they had spent an hour doing this the snow removal firm showed up and plowed. Silly people.

We usually are parked out there. But with the help of our pals David and E we put our car in a garage for friday, sturday, and Sunday. We’ll shovel a bit and get it back in place. Thing is we are expecting snow again on tuesday and wednesday.

This is our second huge storm since moving downtown.

Was just over at the Philadelphia Museum of Art searching for their hours on Sunday. Was trying to get over to the Gorky Exhibition, spaced that Sunday was the last day. So why when I come to the welcome page can’t I find the hours in the footer or a box?

I click Information. Not there.
I click Visiting. Quick scan, Not there.
I click sitemap. Not there.

Not until I go back to visiting do I notice that under Main Building that there are hours another click away. Now when I click hours under Main Building (whatever that is) I get all the visitor information for all of the buildings. What the &%!.

Putting each drawer in took careful aim.

IMG_3402

Task complete. What a great job.

Craig was an amazingly hard worker while helping us move. I think the rewards of going to the cafe for crepes and coffee was part of the motivation to get things done. Still, we had fun moving this piece of furniture and he put in each drawer by himself. He was very pleased when he completed the task. And helped me hang the George Nelson clock too; making sure it was straight.

We could still use some of his help.
Maybe I’ll give him a call.

working on the new heavybubble gallery

Working on getting the new adventure in shape. Still lots of boxes. Still no internet. Still tired. This post is just a short note so you know I’ve survived.

Lots of work too do to get settled. Excited about the possibilities of the new space. We need to paint here too. White is needed. This is a look at some sticky bubbles that David and Erica picked up for us. I think they’ll be terrific on the door. When we open the door to the street you’ll see our bubbles.

Branding for two spaces is going to be challenging.

I’ve got some ideas though.

craig at morning glory, philadelphia

Craig T thinks that Morning Glory is an awesome place to relax and have a good meal.
He had a terrific sandwich with potatoes and homemade catsup.

It has been a really fun visit in Philadelphia so far.

Please come to show your support for the citizens of Iran, who have risked their lives to protest the ‘official’ results of the election. Our silent protest is followed by a candle light vigil to honor the courage of those who lost their lives, to ensure that their voice is not dead, that their memory is with us forever.

Iranians around the world voted in the presidential election of 12 June 2009 (22 Khordad 1388) and stand in solidarity with the people in Iran and their true vote. We in the Iranian Diaspora reject the ‘official’ results put forth by the Ministry of Interior and demand that this election be canceled and held again. We echo demands that the Iranian government take clear and transparent measures toward insuring that the democratic process is respected, and cease all violence against the people. Moreover, we demand that the government respects all the rights of the people enshrined in the Iranian Constitution, including: Freedom of Assembly (Article 27), Freedom of the Press (Article 24) and Freedom from Arbitrary Arrest and Detention (Article 32).

PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD and invite your friends, families and everyone…

Don’t forget to wear GREEN.

Date: Thursday, June 25, 2009

Time: 6:00–8:00pm
Silent protest: 6:00–7:15pm
Candle light vigil: 7:15–8:00pm

Location: Rittenhouse square (North Side)
Between 18th and 19th on Walnut Street
Philadelphia, PA 19103

The point is to support the people of Iran in their demands around this fraudulent election and to condemn the violence. Not to push other agendas. No political factions, NO FLAGS (from any country), let us speak with one voice.
