Walking the neighborhood

Now that I have my nifty Insta­gram app I’ve always got a 2 1/4 cam­era with me. I’ve always loved to shoot square. I’ve begun tak­ing shots each time I walk the neigh­bor­hood. It’s eas­ier to do this now that I am a full time pedes­trian — no more car.

This is a Lomo-esque shot just a cou­ple blocks from home. I have taken many pho­tos of it. I like to explore the same places from a dif­fer­ent point of view. This is an amaz­ing build­ing. It has been empty now for at least a cou­ple years. I won­der when some­one from Brook­lyn will buy it and turn it into con­dos. So much Philadel­phia prop­erty has been bought up by Brook­lyn developers.

M got a bit car­ried away with the red tape. This was on the pack­ing side of the move. It’s fun to use the tape gun and this is a par­tic­u­larly heavy pack­age. It’s a totally unplanned pat­tern. I love when moments like this hap­pen. Alas, the rug is gone now. It began to give up as we packed our things. It just couldn’t take another move. But the box still hasn’t been unpacked.

The first time that the peo­ple that made the Bernoulli Box became iomega with remov­able dri­ves that were all about YOUR STUFF I thought their was some very savvy think­ing about the desires or con­sumers. Then the CD burner came into being and smashed their suc­cess in the portable stor­age mar­ket­space. Well, It looks like Iomega is return­ing to its old smart self cre­at­ing a very desir­able, very sexy new ego 320 GB hard drive. The reviews I’ve read are very good and the drive is excep­tion­ally good looking.

It reminds me of a flask with some­thing warm inside for when the cold winds blow. Or maybe a cigarette/cigar case — some­thing very per­sonal. The kind of gift you give to some­one you are very fond of, some­thing to inscribe.

This is a prod­uct with a very inter­est­ing emo­tional connection.
