I slept through our most recent snowfall. So disappointed to miss the falling flakes, but woke to a fresh white blanket covering our little carriage path.

A white day full of muffled sounds. Almost everything a whisper.
The snow is still falling and the sky is the same strange yellow as last night. Perfect symmetry 12 hours later. It has been a night and day of quiet observation. An occasional muffled voice heard with the crunch of boots on newly fallen snow. It is a joy to be so quiet on the inside too.

This is what it looked like in our courtyard yesterday. Over night the wind was blowing so hard that all the windows were covered in snow and we couldn’t see outside. I found this little gap and shot the neighbors doing some shoveling. Of course after they had spent an hour doing this the snow removal firm showed up and plowed. Silly people.
We usually are parked out there. But with the help of our pals David and E we put our car in a garage for friday, sturday, and Sunday. We’ll shovel a bit and get it back in place. Thing is we are expecting snow again on tuesday and wednesday.
This is our second huge storm since moving downtown.

This is a photo of the first big snow this year. It was also the first snow at our new residence. This is the view from our balcony as neighborhood fellows tried to clear the pavers for cars to make it out. That’s our VW Jetta under about 10 inches of snow.
I found the geometry amusing.
